Vandalism at the Range and Upper Bay Etiquette
- There has been more frequent destruction of club property and littering/dumping in the upper bays.
- Tires – the club is not a tire dump. The matches that use the upper bays use tires for the matches. They have enough. Do not bring your unwanted tires to the range and leave them.
- Barrels and Spools – are not to be used for target practice. Barrels and spools are used during the matches in the upper bays. When these props are destroyed you are degrading the quality of the matches for the users and guests of these matches.
- The club has worked hard to provide myriad steel targets for members to shoot in two of the upper bays. For safety, you should not engage steel with a pistol at less than 24 feet of distance. The upper bays are not long enough to engage steel with a centerfire rifle range so please us the steel on the 200 yard range for rifle practice.
- There are target stands in most of the upper bays. These are the only devices you or your guests should use to hang targets from. You’ll need to bring your own furring strips and probably some cardboard to hang your target. DO NOT HANG TARGETS ON SPOOLS.
- You’ll see some pictures below of vandalized props. If you fellow members engaging in this behavior please tell them to stop
- Police your brass and hulls after your session. There has been a lot more brass and hulls left in the upper bays recently.
- Please help us take care of the club.
- You can contact: David McElyea if you have any questions about the bays or the matches held there.
