September 2024 – On The Range Newsletter

Clean Up/Work Day September 28th at 8:00am

  • We need volunteers to help get the club ready for Sight In days.
  • Meet at the clubhouse at 8:00 am on September 28th and bring some work glove with you.
  • We’ll primarily be cleaning up the 200 yard rifle range.
  • However there will be other projects that will be tackled depending on how much help shows up.
  • This is a great way to fulfill your work bond for the year.

Archery Range

  • A huge thank you to Allen Moores for his hard work on the Archery Range
  • New targets have been installed at the archery range which is behind the club house.
  • We have targets from 20-60 yards (I think I have those distances right)
  • There is also a special target called Iron Mike. A steel antelope silhouette with a smallish cutout where the vitals are. Don’t miss!
  • You are welcome to shoot broad heads at the archery range but you must provide your own target.
  • Please only use field points on the club targets so we can stretch their use for as long as possible.
  • No broad heads on club targets.

Club News

  • Sight In Days
    • Sight In days will be Wednesday through Friday of each week that precedes 1st, 2nd and 3rd season.
    • The entire range will be closed to all other shooting activities during those days so please plan accordingly.
    • If you are interested in volunteering for Sight In Days you can contact Jim Morris @ (970) 209-8066.
  • Range Upkeep
    • The range belongs to membership and it is membership’s responsibility to keep the range in good condition. If you see an area that needs attention please let the board know so we can make arrangements to address the need.
  • Get involved with the Gun Club. Interested in being a board member or helping out in some other capacity at the club? Contact Steve Bathje or Rick Odom.

Club Meetings Every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

Have fun, be safe and we’ll see you on the range!
